I have always loved dogs, and, like many of you, can trace my growing up by remembering the succession of our family pets.
After many years of designing textiles and graphics, I was looking for a change. The idea for Barkology reared it’s head while rummaging through boxes at an antique market. A Victorian studio portrait of a dapper pit bull became inspiration for the first set of Barkology note cards, and the rest is history. The line has grown to include fashion tees, embellished headware, totes and mats with many ideas waiting in the wings.
Barkology is first and foremost an homage to dogs, dedicated to my current – Buckwheat, Bosco, Daisybean – and former – Atlas, Crayola, Dot - kids and devoted co-workers. It’s such a treat to come to work every day to do a job I love with the added bonus of featuring my muse, the dog. And, a portion of profits benefits my favorite canine charities. I thank the loyal following of dog devotees that makes my job exciting and possible!
